Water Colour Painting

  I live on Lake Superior in Northern Ontario.  This area of natural beauty provides me with subjects galore and the serenity to let my creativity flow.
  Water colour has been a work in progress for many years.  I have taken courses with Greg Zelinski, and Kaija Maki.  Recently I began studying oil painting ‘plein air ’ with Neil Sherman from Grand Marais.  It is a wonderful challenge which I hope will add depth to both painting mediums.
  Basketry has been a love of mine for many years. I’ve learned from local weavers, Sharon Breckenridge and Judy Nicols.  Collecting local materials from the shores of the lake have added challenges and create new opportunities in weaving.  I am a ‘crook looker’ when hunting for interesting branches, roots and driftwood to use as handles. I add to these materials with prepared reed rope and other weavables.
  Creativity is a part of me that I continue to explore.
